At the end of May 1995, Berzsenyi Dániel College (in collaboration with other partners) was the organizer of the East-Central European Festival dealing with human rights issues and civil movements. The tent, which was placed temporarily in the courtyard of the college and functioned as a location of roundtable discussions, music, film and art events, was called by the organizers as Café Bloom. Finally, the nomad literary and social café closed down, but in 2006 it reopened its imaginary doors at the rear yard of the House of Arts as one of the official locations of Bloomsday.
