"To Live, to Err, to Fall, to Triumph" The Collection of Leopold Bloom Art Foundation
exhibition
The second exhibition of the Leopold Bloom Art Foundation's art collection at the Szombathely Art Gallery presents the most recent works added to the collection, and creates a thematic exhibition of these and a selection of previously acquired works. The artworks on display explore different aspects of life, including being an artist, human and non-human relationships, frailty and death. But they also pose questions that rethink the relationship between body and soul, exploring the traces we leave on our objects, our surroundings, or on the planet. The title of the exhibition is a quotation from James Joyce's novel A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, which captures the moments of growing up, the vibrant energy of life, the complexities of society and the impact of art on our lives, and which many consider to be a prequel to Ulysses.
Exhibiting artists: Zsolt Asztalos, Kristóf József Balogh, Róbert Batykó, Tamás Dezső, Emese Kádár, Dániel Máté, Csaba Nemes, Orsolya Nyíri, Sándor Dávid Papp, Luca Petrányi, Zsuzsi Simon, Nóra Szabó, Boldizsár Tóth
The exhibition is on view until 31/08/2025.
