Opening speech by Dermot Mcguaran (the first secretary of the Irish Embassy in Hungary) and György Ipkovich (mayor of Szombathely).
Annually changing topics, but all connected to the Ulysses. 10 years, more than 100 artists with whom Ferenc Kassai and Ferenc Lobler have a connection from Szombathely. Nine take-home exhibitions with generally 40 artists from the whole country. This characterizes the past 10 years of the Dáblin exhibitions. The topic of Dáblin No. 11 is MIRROR. In front of the house of Joyce, wire-ropes (stretched out between the lamp-standards) hold the posters, which will stay there for two more weeks giving a picture about the art world of Bloomsday. Firkin: Jumpin' Irish Music
concert
Outdoor Irish pub with Guinness beer, music and dancing. The Firkin band, formed in the summer of 2008 with the leadership of flute-player János Péter, introduced the boisterously cheerful genre of modern Irish pub music in Hungary. Following the footsteps of the legends of Pogues, Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys, the band brings relaxation to every passer-by.
